It Happened in a Pray Meeting

IIn the Comunidad Cristiana Nueva Esperanza (New Hope Christian Community) every Tuesday at 7: 00 PM we met to pray, although sometimes only has been my family and I, (we are the pastoral family). However we have insisted inviting people of the church to come.

Initially, perhaps being that, the beginning was further assistance, but the temptation to which we are subjected when we decided to unite to talk to God is much stronger than “normal” (?) and some succumb, the soup opera, tiredness, football game, the child or any other excuse is quite powerful to put forward as a reason for not going. There are still those who used lies to justify his absence when give more weight to fatigue and other things than to talk to God in communion with others. Yet Jesus took their group to retire to pray, Peter, Jacob and John.

Is there some value in the pray meeting? People suggest this idea because of their absence of many these meetings. Hey! Many people sing “I like to be in your home celebrating with thy people…” and even jumping and dance in the “spirit” singing this contemporary, anthem. This is why I say that people lie, because when they are invited to the pray meeting they like to sing “I like to be in my house…”. Seem to say that that, does not have any value, that these meetings belongs to the “past” generations. But God has other plans…

Some days ago last Tuesday, October the 6th, a sister who felt she hadn’t a Ministry, although she is always inviting her neighbors living near her home, took as a guest to one women that time ago had received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized, but she set off and didn’t back again because she was feeling afraid to go to the church. She had come as guest several times but not obeyed the calling of the spirit of the Lord by the preaching, to reconciliation with God.

After knowing the reasons for prayer, the small group (5 people) took hands and one of them began to pray, it was the sister asking God again He confirmed her Ministry. But moments before we start praying, we began to feel the powerful presence of the Lord in his Spirit touching our hearts. This sister started to cry in front of God, but was not a cry of pain but emotion by the powerful influence of God. When she finished her prayer, another sister began to pray and could not continue, crying didn’t permit her, but there was no pain but a mixture of feelings, something powerful was looming over all of us. Then we hear the voice of our guest crying out for forgiveness to God, “I’ve known your Word and I have not obeyed you” she cried out, “I want to serve you Lord, tell me what I must do”. It was very interesting that in her crying, she had no pain but a clear repentance and her words were expressing her need to serve God and obey Him. Yet the pastor could not prevent a few tears may fall from his eyes. Sister ceased to cry and began to give thanks, she was falling to the ground, but three people held her up while the pastor prayed thanking the Lord for his powerful influence and put his hands on her head. After a while of prayer and intercession thanks, we finish with a final pray. The reconciled sister was shining of emotion, having a face of who had an enormous burden and was freed from it. We, the others were shocked; the presence of the Lord by his Holy Spirit was still felt.

All we went home in order to rest from all the day work and with the certainty that the Lord had acted in a real way in our lives. We were witnesses that the woman arrived at the beginning of the meeting was a very different woman from that who was coming out. Yes, that happened in a pray meeting.

What’s interesting is that we didn’t pray for requesting made before we pray together, but we had the certainty that God had taken our requests in their hands. We understood, we do not pray for what were requiring before, but for what God wanted. That is the most wonderful experience we the only 5 people had, we who decided to attend the pray meeting. The rest of the people of the church had loss it these blessings because they had other “most important” things to do.

I have a question in my heart; What would have happened with this sister if we would have suspended the pray meeting because “nobody was coming”? How many people were lost that huge blessing by not going to the pray meeting? On Tuesday, October the 6th, the lives of 5 people changed, not because a new birth but a new revelation; God loves the pray meeting because there, you talk more with him than in the worship meetings. No, He is not underrating the worship meetings, but He is saying, “…but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others…”

What do you think now? I invite you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ that you attend the pray meetings, you don’t know the time God has chosen to bless your life in a special way and He Has chosen these meetings to tell you it.
